WISE Teaching Concerns - Slide 3 of 6 |
| Do WISE projects have lesson plans? WISE projects do have lesson plans. These plans are provided by the project authors and can be found in the WISE Project Library. Lesson plans give teachers suggestions for in-class discussions and activities to accompany the on-line activities, highlight important issues, and give other tips for running the project smoothly with the class. It is also important for the teachers to familiarize themselves with the WISE project itself, to experience first-hand what the students will be doing in the project. The best way to do this is to visit the project ahead of time. If a teacher wants to know what students will be doing in the "Deformed Frogs Mystery" project, for example, he/she can enter the project from the Projects section of the Teacher's PET. In "Student Mode," teachers (and other WISE members) can click through the steps of the project, read evidence pages, try out any special modeling tools, and write notes. Everything in the project will be fully functional. | |
